Keepsakes for my girls

As stated in my previous post, my girls have been ‘over’ having their picture taken by me for years. Each year I eagerly start shopping for their big shoot months in advance, knowing when shoot day actually comes it won’t be easy. I have always had a friend or assistant come along to ‘wrangle’ the kids. I figured this year, they were old enough..and WISE enough… to handle the shoot on their own. This was not the case. Once they stepped foot out of the car, they immediately  began laying down the law — they set the amount of time I would be shooting (10 mins) and the number of exposures I could take (20). I agreed. Frankly, they made me a little nervous!

Well, we did it under 30 min, 75 exposures. Not surprising, they then told me I needed to take them to Starbucks to make up for going over my allowed limit.  So I dutifully chauffeured them to Starbucks, all the while thinking about how one day my girls will appreciate these yearly photoshoots and the keepsakes they have to cherish forever… despite the oh so daunting task of smiling for their mother.
