Cat & Jubal…

I’m sure that Amy has many previous customers who would love to add their sentiments to her blog and share their stories. I feel compelled to share mine as well.

I first met Amy in spring 2008, 2 months before my wedding. When we met (at Starbucks), we clicked immediately – we talked not only about the wedding; my vision and her methods, but also about decorating, flea markets and furniture, specifically chairs.

On my wedding day Amy was gracious, helpful, fun, insightful, and not at all put out by our slightly *ahem* unusual wedding party.

Amy’s photos show how truly happy that day was; full of bliss and contentment.

Her photos also show Jubal & me teasing, joking, laughing – she captured the truth of our real, everyday relationship.

When Jubal died last year I was even more grateful to have such meaningful photos.

Now Amy takes pictures of our son, Andy. Once again she captures truth. I see Jubal’s charisma in the photos of Andy, I see my sense of wonderment. I see us.

Thank you Amy, I am privileged to be able to consider you my friend.

It’s true. I have such fun memories of Amy & her helper elf playing with us that day like she had known every one of us for years. She was comfortable & professional with the stodgy Canadians & older folk. And she was delightfully laughing at our PBR-drinking, tattooed rabble-rousing younger folk. She was able to capture real memories, not just snapshots.

I still to this day… I remember each and every single person I photographed that day. The bridesmaid with the cat glasses, the tattoos, the expressions, the laughter..The group was fun, funky and THEY were the ones who made the shots great.
It was great seeing most of them again at Erin and Andy’s wedding that next year. I truly feel lucky to have been able to be the photographer on the day…and now a friend.
