Amy + Nick

Photographs – one of my most treasured keepsakes. When you have a good photo it’s one thing, but when you have a great photo it takes you back to that place in time. You can smell what that moment smelt like, hear what that moment sounded like, feel what that moment felt like. You’re there in that moment all over again! Now, what Bride wouldn’t want to live her wedding day again and again? So when it came to choosing my wedding photographer there was no choice – it was Amy. Before I even had a reason to get a photographer I knew who she’d be when that day came! How did I know? Well, quite simply I just got lucky!

My name is Amy Schechinger and on August 13, 2011 I married Nick Schechinger, the man better than my dreams.

My love affair with Amy Allen photography started on June 19, 2010 when Nick’s brother and his fiancee (Chad and Erin Schechinger) got married. Nick and I were boyfriend/girlfriend at the time, not yet engaged. Chad and Erin did the hard work for me, finding Amy and using her brilliance and talent as their wedding photographer. So I’d seen Amy’s work on their engagement pictures and they were amazing, and then got to watch her in action while shooting their wedding.

Amazing doesn’t even begin to explain Amy or her work! One of a kind, out of this world, over the top wonderful… to say the least… and that’s just Amy and her personality… her photos of course speak for themselves!

So when Nick proposed in November 2010, if memory serves right, I contacted Amy the next day. I knew she would book up fast and I was going to have to plan according to her calendar. Luck played her cards again and she had the perfect date open – August 13th.

Neither Nick nor I, are comfortable in front of the camera – we aren’t naturally photogenic… but I knew if anyone could capture our true selves it would be Amy! Needless to say she did not let us down. Amy exceeded our expectations, starting with our Engagement pictures – a day we were both nervous about.

From the beginning Amy made us 100% completely comfortable and at ease; and she made the process feel very natural and FUN! Nick and I both enjoyed our time spent with Amy that day and really felt like she genuinely wanted to get to know us. Through several emails, texts, and phone conversations (and an unforgettable “for his eyes only” shoot… which every bride should do!) the Big Day arrived and I was not one bit nervous or worried that our wedding photos would be anything other than perfect! At that point Amy had come to feel like a friend. And this was old news for her, being that the summer before she was photographing the same family, it felt like a reunion.

Amy and her assistant made the photos quick and painless. She found some great places to shoot at the church and around my hometown… we had a blast! And as I look at the photos I am brought back to that day… filled with so much intimacy and love, and our family and friends’ support! Nick and I could not have imagined a more perfect day… and Amy’s photographs have captured that. They take us back to the smells and sounds of that day. We are there feeling that excitement all over again.

Thank you Amy for making it possible to re-live our wedding day for the rest of our lives. We’ve found a lifelong photographer and look forward to working with Amy again soon, because weddings aren’t all she’s exceptional at:)

Amy Irene, the pictures did what they should do….capture and preserve the day and the beginning of a life together. We are so happy for you both and love that we could share your day.
